Ferndale Area Junior-Senior High School Bulletin for Sunday, May 27, 2018

Congratulations to Derrick Chandler-Christie on his 8th place finish this past weekend in Hershey. Derrick is the only Ferndale wrestler to qualify for States 4 times in his High School career and earned two State medals. Congratulations Derrick on your great High School Wrestling career.

Congratulations to Tashaun Moore for winning the PA State Archery Tournament on Friday, March 9, 2018. Tashaun shot a score of 297 giving him 1st place for the high school male category and for the overall tournament. His 1st place finish qualifies him for a trip to the National Tournament in Louisville, KY in May!

Congratulations to another successful Drama performance over the weekend. The performance was very well done, as well as the ingenious props, costumes, stage settings, and directions. This could not have been successful without the dedication of the student performers and cast, the faculty of the school, and the support staff of the school. Very well done everyone!

A reminder to students who signed up to play sports next school year - If you plan to get a Free school physical, you must have your paperwork turned in to Mr. Clawson no later than Wednesday, May 9th. If you have not yet signed up and wish to, please see Mr. Clawson during homeroom.

Congratulations to Bella Hauger for her commitment to join the Chatham University Cougars Women’s Basketball Team

Congratulations to Tashaun Moore for his finish at the Archery Nationals in Louiseville, Kentucky! Tashaun will now return to Kentucky to compete in the NASP 2018 World Tournament in June!

Congratulations to Derrick Chandler-Christie for his commitment to continue his wrestling career with the Seton Hill Griffins.

Congratulations to Damian McNeil qualifying to compete in the District 6 Track Meet with the Johnstown Trojans!

Please remind students that their daily planner is their hall pass. There will be no more passes given from the office. Students are to have their planners with them at all times.

Join us, the Ferndale Area family, at Trojan Stadium on Saturday, June 2nd for the Walk of Hope. Walk one lap or all day long. Ferndale Area students, staff, and community members will walk in support of cancer survivors and in remembrance of loved ones who lost their battles. Our Ferndale Area team, “Hannah’s Hive,” originated in 2017 after one of our students, Hannah Chuha, lost her battle with cancer in the Fall of 2016. Our hope is to continue her legacy while supporting those in our community who continue to fight. Team t-shirt order forms were passed out two weeks ago during homeroom. Please turn in order forms and payment to Mrs. Ricci by Monday, April 16th.

Reminder: Students please remember that you have 3 days to turn in any attendance excuses. Excuses must be signed by a parent or guardian. In addition, only medical excuses will be accepted for excusing any late arrivals to school.
